Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American entrepreneur for over twenty years. Buss is the founder and president of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss was born in California and grew up as an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss' father was a real-estate magnate who later owned the Lakers as well as various other sports organizations. Her feelings of abandonment were heightened as her parents divorced in 1972. When she was 19 years old she inherited her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. Then she founded an organization called the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She served as the head of the Great Western Forum before assuming the role of vice-president for the Lakers. Buss and her siblings, five sisters and brothers, as well as their father who owned the Lakers and controlled them until the time of his passing away in 2013, received the ownership via the trust. Each of them had equally the right to vote. She assumed the office as the head of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss runs Women of Wrestling in Los Angeles the organization which encourages professional wrestling.
