Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that blends R&B with gospel, soul music, and R&B. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta but she is out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began music by performing and playing piano in churches. Her musical career began in Atlanta at Spellman College. It was remixed and has become a part of her set. The Fighting Temptations was the other soundtrack she sang on. In 2005, she was employed to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to serve as the director of the choral group for the production. Sunshine was the subject of national media notice during the four performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
