Queen Latifah

Dana Elaine Owens - better popularly referred to as Queen Latifah, is an American actress, rapper, and singer. Queen Latifah's work in the fields of music, film and television has earned her the Golden Globe award two Screen Actors Guild Awards two Image Awards a Grammy Award and six more Grammy nominations an Emmy Award nomination and an Academy Award nomination. Queen Latifah was born in and was raised in Newark New Jersey the daughter of Rita teacher who taught at Irvington High School and Lancelot Owens Sr. as a police officer. The couple separated when Latifah was ten years old. Latifah was raised in the Baptist faith and attended Catholic school in Newark New Jersey. Latifah refers to gentle and gentle.
